I especially recommend using QuickBooks accounting software to manage the accounting aspect of your business. It's simple and easy to understand for those of you who are not familiar with accounting.  On the other hand, for those of you who are well versed in accounting, QuickBooks can accomodate your skill level as well as your accounting, regardless the size of your business.

I also recommend using Palo Alto's business plan software as oppossed to hiring a business plan writer for thousands of dollars.  When you really think about it, your business plan is in your head, not in the head of a business plan writer.  Use this software to get your ideas flowing and better understand what you business will become.  You can even us this software if you need to plan a new operating year.  It's a good product.
